How I Made $68 in 3 days and NEVER left my house.

Whaaaat? Yes girl! I wish I would have known about this sooner. I’m still making sells daily. It’s such a simple way to get a little extra money in your pockets and guess what you also get to declutter your closet while doing it!

The best part is I could keep making even more money.

All on a free app! I’m sure you’ve heard of it. I had heard of it. Way too many times. I never thought much of it until recently. I was desperate for ways to make a little extra cash. Being recently laid off from my job I felt guilty being home all day and not really contributing. I don’t know why I feel like that; I’m watching the toddler, doing the laundry, and cleaning the house but I was so used to bringing in money it just felt weird.

All of my new time at home also made me realize how much extra stuff we have everywhere. So I took the plunge and did it, I downloaded PoshMark.

It’s completely free and so simple. They make it extremely easy to sell and ship. Keep reading how to make extra cash and clear out your closet of the clothes you never wear. I’m going to give you tips and tricks to gain followers and make sells really quickly! Warning, it gets addicting!

To make things even more convienent Posh Mark covers shipping. All you have to do is print off the shipping label and package your item.

I even made an account at USPS so that I could schedule picks up. I’d leave my packages at the front door and the postal worker would pick them up! Something I didn’t know is that you can order FREE boxes from USPS and they’ll send them straight to your home. This make’s everything so simple.

#1 Clean out your closet, your husbands closet, your kids closet.

This is key. The more items you post the more likely your items will be seen. Make sure your clothes are still in good condition. No stains, no wrinkles. I run an iron over all my clothes so they look nice and fresh! You want your clothes to stand out!

It can be hard to part with some things so I follow the rule; If it doesn’t fit get rid of it and if I haven’t worn it in the last 6 months get rid of it!

#2 Take Photographs Of Every Item

These need to be awesome photographs! Great lightening. Natural light works best. Just make sure your pictures aren’t dark, bad background, and don’t take picture laying on a bed! It makes such a huge difference.

Hang your clothes up on a hanger, get pictures of every angle, front & back, ends of pants, just do it all! Fill up every picture space you’re given. Even if you have to repeat pictures. The more pictures, the better!

Also TIP! The PoshMark format is the square setting. So make sure you’re using the square mode when taking your photo’s. If not you’ll have to crop them and they won’t fit.

#3 Download PoshMark

#4 Complete Your Profile

You want to look as legitimate as possible. The more relatable you make yourself the more likely you can gain trust which leads to buyers.

Upload a nice picture of you! Upload a cute header. Fill out all of the information that you possibly can. Don’t leave anything blank!

#5 Post your items!

Upload each item individually. Chose a display photo that shows the most and the best color! If your item is new make sure to include this in the beginning, to bring people to click!

Suggestions! Use the 🆕 emoji to save characters.

Put the brand name of the item first in your title. Most of the time people search by brand so you want to make sure this is in your title. For example, if you’re selling a pair of American Eagle jeans you’d post something like “American Eagle, Blue Jeans, American Eagle Jeans”

Make your description detailed!

This is important. I like to put my description in list format and start each new line with a cute emoji. It helps to keep the look organized. I start with brand, what the item is, size, color, material, I also like to mention how to style it or something about. If it’s comfortable, I through that in there. If it runs small, let them know!

Be courteous. Do what you’d want people doing for you if you were trying to buy these clothes.

#6 Follow, follow, follow.

You may realize that you keep getting followers. You should follow everyone back. I try to spend 5 minutes a day just following people. The more followers you have, the more people you have viewing and sharing your items. It’s also smart to make sure you fill out all your sizing and pick your brands. Poshmark allows you to follow people based on mutual sizing and brand preference.

Speaking of sharing. Share others items but most importantly share your closet once or twice a day. Don’t just post them and let them sit there. So many people are on PoshMark they’ll never be seen!

#7 Offer Deals to People that like your Items

This is what honestly got me the most sales. Every time I got a notification that someone ‘liked’ and item I was selling, I would make a deal for them. I would lower shipping and the price a dollar or two and 95% of the time, they’d purchase my item.

#8 Last but not least, try your best to post at least ONE item every day.

The more you post the more chances you have of being seen. I would post everything but about 3-4 items and then every day post two of them. Just so that I was always posting new items to my closet.

Do these things and I promise you’ll make money quick!

I hope these tips helped you! Comment below if you’ve bought or sold from Poshmark before!
